Sean explains that there are many more ships like the one that took Marianne, and they all dump their cargo at an old disused factory in Jackpot City. Jackpot City is the third area of the game. As Sackboy chases after her he is beamed up into a mysterious spaceship. But just as begins to celebrate with Marianne she is captured in a cage by a Hollow in a flying vehicle. Sackboy journeys across the Land of Odd and rids the nearby mines of a mechanical Hollow drilling device. But now the Hollows are stealing things and taking them away to their lair. She explains that the land was once just a pile of unwanted things, until she started fixing it up. Once Sackboy and Colonel Flounder arrive in The Land of Odd, Marianne Noisette appears and scares the Colonel off. In it, you meet the soft-spoken Marianne Noisette and get to fight the Hollows for the first time. The Land of Odd is the second area of the game. When Sackboy defeats his main act, he is ready and Colonel Flounder takes Sackboy on his boat upriver to a new land. Sackboy and the Colonel then arrive at La Marionetta, where he acts as a mentor, teaching Sackboy the basic training he'll need to defeat the Puppeteer. Now he's returned, and is using the Hollows to cause mischief throughout the land.
They leave, and Colonel Flounder explains the situation with The Puppeteer: He was once a happy entertainer, but after hearing his first boo from an audience, he threw his puppets away and disappeared. At first he wants to go in, but then Colonel Flounder shows up an warns him not to. La Marionetta is the first area of the game where you meet the marvelous Colonel Flounder.Īs Sackboy arrives in Carnivalia, he sees a circus tent.
